This is a rare and senior level opportunity for a highly skilled enterprise software architect to make their mark with this rapidly growing and leading player in the provision of integrated end-to-end software solutions protecting brands and consumers from Fraudulent activities.  Their marketplace is both significant and growing and the company works with world-leading brands, institutions, and governments.  It is a significant employer and specialist in anti-piracy, anti-fraud and brand protection including track and trace software services and it operates from multiple locations throughout the UK, USA and further afield internationally.   

 

Reporting to and working in close collaboration and as a trusted advisor to the Chief Software Development Officer, your role is to ensure the delivery of world-leading robust and scalable solutions. They are looking to appoint a seasoned architect who has experience of building new applications from scratch with the and the ability to refactor and integrate existing applications and someone who brings a strong understanding of unified platforms, Big Data and analytics.  You will work on innovative client solutions to fight a broad range of online problems around counterfeiting, piracy and brand protection software services and ensure that the group stays one step ahead of bad actors.   You will interface internationally with senior colleagues in the group together with its key partners and produce high quality architectural deliverables which reflect the groups focus on product development. You will be a thought leader with real world business common sense, the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across functions, and mentor a team.  You will need to bring high level academic qualifications in computer science ideally to Masters level and have an impressive track record in enterprise software development which includes new products plus modifications to existing technical architectures.  You will also need to demonstrate that you have real hands-on experience in application design, large scale software development (preferably SaaS based) and can back this up with world-class knowledge of software development methodologies and processes.   

As they want to appoint a real technical expert, your skill base will need to include the following:

•        Technology areas – JAVA, Frontend frameworks (Angular), UI/US libraries (Kendo), Web services XML,                    SOAP, XSL, HTML

•        Search Engines – Elasticsearch, Apache, Solr

•        Design and relationship database design (OLAP)

•       Hands-on experience with L1/L2 Cache and building load balances, microservices, containers (Docker),              Mesos and Marathon
