Our client is a market leader in industrial metal trading. The business is looking for a Development Lead to come in on an initial 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to join the team in London.

The role is accountable for transforming the current software engineering function. This will involve collaborating with other members of the Corporate, Pre-Trade and Trading (CPT) Department. The role will have 3 development teams reporting into it which cover new and existing business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Establish vision and direction and align development functions to a common purpose

• Accountable for 3rd level support (24x5,5) for all in-house applications

• Establish and enforce engineering governance, including consistent development standards, processes and methodologies

• Ensure management of actual and forecast team costs against approved budget

• Create and monitor development metrics to understand and communicate team's performance

Criteria

• Extensive experience in the Exchange or Real Time trading sector

• Proven knowledge of software development methodologies

• Track record of team and vendor management

• A strategic mindset with an eye for structure
