This is an important new role with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for corporate customers.

The company design, install, monitor, maintain and optimise Building Energy Management Systems as well as developing Energy Control solutions for smart places - Cities, Campuses and Industrial buildings.

The role and key responsibilities

Our client's Distributed Generation and Storage (DG&S) business is looking to expand rapidly with a particular focus on the solar and battery storage markets. The Head of Portfolio Acquisitions will work in collaboration with the DG&S Sector Director, managing the acquisition and pipeline of single and/or multiple site acquisitions for typically large, utility-scale Solar and Battery projects.

Your focus will be to identify and originate acquisition opportunities and manage transactions to completion. This includes managing the full transaction process of business case development, underlying commercial, financial and technical assumptions, project support team management, approval processes and negotiations before ensuring a smooth handover to the delivery team.

The Head of Portfolio Acquisitions will play a key role in interactions with the wider business including development and support of additional DG&S projects as well as the wider development of the DG&S strategy - promoting the attainment of an agreed 5YP and associated targets.

Essential requirements

To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:

Strong energy sector experience, ideally within the Distributed Energy market

Experience in energy development and project acquisition
*

An existing network of developers within the renewable energy market, specifically solar and battery
*

Somebody who understands more than just the numbers, and has a strong knowledge of the commercial, financial and technical elements of renewable energy acquisition,

Project management experience including the ability to communicate, engage and manage the expectations of a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration

Salary would depend on experience, up to 100,000 + bonus up to 20% + company car/cash allowance + attractive benefits
