This is strategic, transformative role which requires a collaborative senior systems product professional to help create the business systems product eco-system across Imperial College.

The College is seeking to adopt a customer and data-focused approach to its systems across digital education, research and central services. As such, the development of sophisticated suite of productised systems will be key to enabling the adoption of this change. Consequently, Imperial requires a strategic Head of Products to engage with, and understand, colleagues across the organization, to establish and embed the new product structures, approach and mindset within the systems teams.

The Role

  • Build relationships across the organisation to gain upstream visibility of the College’s future systems requirements. Build an understanding of the Institution’s aims, then create and deliver an aligned portfolio of systems products to facilitate them.
  • Create a transformational product strategy and roadmap which will put user experience, service design and accessibility at the heart of product development, and help move the College towards a modern, agile, product-based technology systems landscape.
  • Create and mould a high-performing products capability adept in shaping and delivering high-quality systems which will provide a seamless customer experience for students, researchers and staff alike.
  • The Candidate
  • A visionary, impactful, delivery-focused products professional with a deep pedigree of transformational product development experience, preferably gained whilst improving legacy environments. You will have demonstrated the ability to capture the high-level view of requirements, and of building a product delivery capability to meet them.
  • An evangelising and inspirational people coach with a track record of re-shaping traditional systems development functions and driving delivery excellence. You should demonstrate experience introducing Agile methods and of helping teams adopt best practice in product delivery in legacy environments.
  • A senior and rounded organisational leader with impact and gravitas. You should be able to operate at the strategic level and have the ability to engage across highly complex and nuanced stakeholder landscape.
