Head of Pricing

Over the past 10 years the legal sector has seen a marked expansion in the number of pricing specialist roles being created, with most large UK law firms now having either a pricing team or at least one pricing specialist supporting the business. The growing popularity of these roles in commercial law firms means that it is now unusual for newly created senior pricing leadership positions to emerge in large City law firms. As such Totum Partners are delighted to have been engaged by a UK firm with several international offices and an enviable reputation amongst its clients and peer group in its search for its first Head of Pricing.

Reporting into the C-Suite, the Head of Pricing will be the first pricing specialist in the business and expected to quickly build an internal reputation for being able to deliver pricing solutions to the partnership. Working alongside the COO and others, the Head of Pricing will help to develop the firmwide pricing strategy, create and lead a Pricing Committee, give training and educate the Partners and fee earning teams in different pricing tactics and conduct a review of existing client agreements and ongoing matters. The Head of Pricing will be involved in significant bids and tenders, working alongside business development, finance and the fee earners in the formulation of innovative and competitive approaches to win work from new and existing clients. Over time the expectation is that additional headcount will be recruited and a pricing team created.
