Michael Page Engineering are working in partnership with a market leading Processing company based in Derbyshire for a General Manager.

This exciting business is looking for growth in multiple sectors that it supplies, including Automotive, Aerospace and the wider Industrial market. It wants to invest further in its people and the assets on site and looking for someone to drive this positive transformation

Description

The General Manager will have full operational control of the plant in Derbyshire and also be expected to:

• Positively drive a site wide HSE culture
• Encourage a management team to lead by example and deliver an improvement in results
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve plant performance, output and achieve production targets through both technical innovation and investment
• Spear head the development of the people and processes on site with an emphasis on individual development plans
• Identify and execute capital projects on site, delivering operational improvements across OEE, TPM and the wider agenda
• A positive influence in raising the site moral and also the operational delivery expectations

Profile

the successful applicants with have the following

• Degree in a Chemical/Chemistry, Processing or Metallurgical Discipline
• A proven track record of running a chemical or processing plant
• An ability to mix a hands on approach with strategic management
• Knowledge of Lean tools would be highly advantageous
• Ability to run a cost centre or had P n L responsibility
• Able to manage and drive positive change through a site infrastructure
