Interim Group Financial Controller

Our client, an international, listed business within the oil and gas sector, is seeking an Interim Group Financial Controller to join their Head Office Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a Big 4 trained, qualified Accountant with significant technical experience within a similar environment. An immediate start is required and likely to be until at least the end of March 2022.

Description

• Deliver annual consolidated financial statements, half-year condensed consolidated financial statements, quarterly management reports, business planning, and forecasting. 
• Improve the Group's financial performance and position by identifying, assessing, and implementing initiatives to realize opportunities. 
• Ensure that an effective and efficient financial controls framework is designed, deployed, operated, and monitored. 
• Ownership of accounting policies and setting the standards of internal financial control across the Group.
• Take accountability for the delivery of internal and internal financial reporting, including board and shareholder reporting.
• Ensure that processes are in place to enable compliance with relevant reporting obligations. 
• Team management.

Skills

• Graduate qualified Accountant, preferably Big 4 ACA or equivalent, with sound technical accounting skills. 
• Prior similar Group Financial Controller experience in an FTSE 100 or FTSE 250 or Financial Controller experience for a large region/division in a blue-chip listed company.
• Previous experience within the oil and gas industry or similar (manufacturing, industrials, engineering, construction) will be highly advantageous. 
• Internationally minded and strong track record in leadership of cross border matrixed teams. 
• Able to liaise with and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business. 
• Leadership and people management experience.
