Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Head of Engagement for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of GBP500/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances these roles will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:

-Develop and lead an overall engagement strategy, working closely with senior colleagues across the programme.
-Lead detailing mapping of activity to raise awareness and engage with key communities and harder to reach groups, comprising both stakeholder and community engagement with targeted messaging.
-Direct line management of two members of staff, overseeing and guiding key elements of their work.
-Oversee the creation of a high quality programme of events and community engagement (virtually until restrictions allow face-to-face engagement) across Scotland to target key communities and raise awareness and motivation ahead of and during live operations.
-Lead regular monitoring and evaluation of activity along with working closely with the public assistance and enumeration teams.
-Oversee the strategic planning and delivery of impactful and informative internal communications across the programme.
-You may also be asked to provide occasional support to communications colleagues with media and social media engagement, and deputise for the Head of Communications and Engagement as required.

Essential Skills:

-Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience of working in a high-profile engagement and/or communications environment.
-Demonstrable experience of leading teams in a complex stakeholder environment, balancing competing priorities, deadlines and people resources.
-Strong organisational skills with clear evidence of strategic planning or project management.
-Ability to build constructive relationships and collaborative opportunities with stakeholders and staff at all levels while working flexibly as part of a team.
-A good understanding of integrated, insight driven engagement and communications work. You must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written skills and be able to communicate complex and technical information confidently with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
