Head of FP&A

Our client is a highly successful software business with a strong track record of hypergrowth over a number of years. The business is at the cutting edge of the global communication industry and is one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world. The organisation already generates a significant amount of revenue, but continues to grow at a phenomenal rate. This newly created role will lead on all planning and analysis, managing a small, very high quality team. The Head of FP&A will lead and support on all areas of commercial and strategic finance, reporting to the CFO, and assisting on the long-term journey towards an eventual IPO.

The role requires a proven leader to drive and direct all aspects of financial planning & analysis. The Head of FP&A will have full responsibility for establishing and monitoring business KPIs, to then communicate these across the business and to other stakeholders, to ensure that the company can optimise its development and growth.

The Head of FP&A will set up, develop and run the corporate planning processes, including the annual plan, quarterly forecast, cash flow forecast and regular ad hoc analysis. This will include monthly KPI reports with associated analysis and recommendations for action, whilst developing the existing team to ensure the business has a best in class FP&A capability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop all metrics of the business, including group planning, reporting & analysis, and budgeting & forecasting

• Provide decision making support for the organisation, for department leads up to Board level

• Prepare the monthly KPI reports
• Develop relationships across the business to achieve stronger engagement and to improve communication
• Business partner senior management
• Develop the FP&A strategy to ensure processes are continually improving
• Develop and build a team to provide a best in class FP&A function
• Ensure that finance is using the optimum systems and tools to all the team and the wider business to best achieve their respective goals

This is an excellent opportunity to apply analysis and business acumen to directly assist with the critical decision making required to steer an organisation experiencing continued hypergrowth. Working closely with the senior leaders across the business, as well as the CEO, COO and CFO, the Head of FP&A will have the opportunity to inform and influence all key strategic financial decisions.

• Significant proven financial planning and analysis experience in a hypergrowth environment, ideally with global exposure
• Experience in the technology sector is highly desirable
• Earlier experience in investment banking, investment management or consulting is highly preferred
• Excellent data skills, including advanced spreadsheet & data analytics experience
• Credibility, initiative and drive
• Highly analytical & well-organised
• High level of emotional intelligence
• Excellent communication skills
