Bernard Matthews are proud to manufacture frozen and cooked meat products to nearly all UK distribution channels, major retailers and catering groups.

Job Description

Reporting into the MD, key responsibilities will include:

Key outputs include delivering the manufacturing plan within agreed cost, quality & service parameters. Accountable that Financial, Operational, Legal, Ethical and Functional KPIs are achieved in line with budgeted / forecasted requirements.

Providing robust and inspirational leadership to c1,200 staff in Operations, to include Technical, Health & Safety, Engineering, Finance; To develop and implement medium and long-term strategies in line with the overall Group strategies to ensure the sustainable delivery of business vision, goals, and objectives.

Ensuring continuous improvement across all areas, devise and deliver site plans, working with the leadership team to deliver site strategy and transformation. Promoting an environment where teamwork, open communication and delivery is maintained.
 

The Successful Applicant

Prospective candidates will have relevant FMCG experience, ideally from food manufacturing, as well as understanding of manufacturing excellence processes and techniques. You will have a demonstrable track record of success in significant operational leadership roles and ideally within a transformation environment. Leading and developing a large workforce in dynamic and commercial environment, with the ability to multi-task and engage with the team.

Of equal importance are strong leadership skills, the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment. In addition, you will have outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills that will enable you to build relationships based on integrity, trust and respected financial judgement. You will be confident in communicating and translating operational matters to the business and Shareholder as required.
