Interim Head of Operations / Operations Manager

Currently working exclusively with our client who is now looking to hire an experienced Head of Operations to manage their B2B service delivery contracts across England and Scotland.

This is a service delivery organisation which manages a variety of local authority contracts, some are very established, others newly mobilised and need more bedding in, all are subject to ongoing changes due to regulatory and government changes.

Based across 100+ sites throughout the UK, this role can be based anywhere in the UK as travel will be frequent to other locations, which include depots, plants and other facilities.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director this role will be essential to the long-term stability of the business and will be responsible for:

• c 1500 operations staff           
• Manage effective operations and prioritisation is in line with the overall strategy of the business
• Through efficient team management ensure contractual obligations are carried out and ensure appropriate resources are available to meet KPIs
• Oversee and support any changes that need to be made to existing contracts
• Work with the Operations Director as required on customer retention and relationship management
• Implementation of the corporate SHEQ policy – including appropriate training, impact analysis and risk assessment – ensure that all internal and external compliancy requirements are met

Professional Profile

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Significant management experience, including managing complex contracts in a service delivery environment
• Working alongside operational and support teams ensuring performance expectations, service standards and people development are met
• Broad operations experience covering project management, supplier selection, supplier management and operations management of complex networks of facilities
• Understanding and application of all aspects of a contract including KPI’s, SLA’s, Management Frameworks, Legal and Commercial documentation
• Managing change, transformation and optimisation of operations
• Experience of working with LA’s would be a distinct advantage
• Excellent communication and influencing skills

This role will be largely based WFH with travel throughout the UK.
