Senior Buyer/Buying Manager for a well respected residential house builder. You will be managing the buying of materials/subcontractors for around 10 residential projects around the region.

Respected residential house builder with a focus on quality and customer service. Covering the whole of the UK, they deliver residential developments from 2-5 bedroom houses, to 1-2 bedroom apartments.

Description

• Assist with the preparation of building budgets.
• Take off materials and prepare schedules for ordering purposes.
• Prepare material enquiries and send out for pricing
• Obtain competitive prices for materials.
• Tender Comparison to ensure quotes are fully inclusive and prepare recommendation.
• Ensure suppliers are suitable and adequate for the work to be carried out.
• Prepare bi-monthly cost reports for surveyors detailing all cost moves within the period and providing projected cost to complete.
• Successfully manage a Junior Buyer
• Liaising with internal divisions regarding samples i.e. bricks, roof tiles etc

Profile

• Experience in a similar role with another residential house builder
• Experience managing multiple projects at one time
• Excellent negotiation skills, and ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Able to manage a team member
