Opus have partnered with a full service creative agency in Bristol who are going through a phase of strategic growth and change and are looking for an experienced Head of Projects to come on board permanently.

They aren't your stereotypical agency and pride themselves on their approach and tight-knit feel to the business, they are looking for someone who has previous managed service or agency experience managing multiple clients and 3rd party suppliers simultaneously this is a unique opportunity for you to join a well-established business that are gearing up for their biggest year to date!

Your day to day Responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and leading the Resource Management Plan working with project managers and technical team leads to determine the demand and supply for capabilities and capacity.
  • Setting up and the administration of resource capacity planning and tracking to help understand resource availability.
  • Monitoring periods of high and low demand to ensure that resources are reallocated appropriately.
  • Holding Project Managers accountable and escalating where necessary.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of generic project management standards, processes, templates and procedures.
  • Ensuring Project Review Boards and Steering committees are coordinated and supported.
You will have the following skills & experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years commercial agency experience, either within a Digital Producer or Digital Project Manager role.
  • Experience of defining and implementing a project resource management process.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of, and owning' Project Portfolio Management toolsets (eg, Clarity, Planview, Kaseya)
  • Excellent understanding of project governance and project management life cycles
  • Able to lead by example with a thorough understanding of how the PMO team assists the organisation.
  • Proficient and can advise others in project management methods, principles, techniques and tools.
  • Process orientated, an organiser with strong planning ability and attention to detail.
  • Any relevant accreditations are welcomed: Prince2, PMI, APM, PMO Learning etc
  • Strong background in delivering agile and waterfall software development projects in a contemporary environment.
  • You will own the budget and will be responsible for the commercials while understanding the tensions between time, scope and cost.
  • You will be capable of forming, nurturing and supporting project teams.
  • You have a way of making the complex sound simple, you get the vision and detail of what is being built and why.
  • It's expected that you have an eye for detail and a nose for problems, smelling them a mile off so you can deal with them proactively.
