About Us
Join us if you want to go beyond the expected, to challenge yourself, to work with outstanding people and to be part of something you can truly be proud of. This is no time for business as usual. Navigating a complex future, and grasping its opportunities, demands thinking every bit as radical as the times.
We are Steer Economic Development
We are a boutique economic development consultancy firm. We don’t just offer solutions for economic development, we change the way our clients think about it. Bringing together a wealth of experience, we deliver a bold, rigorous, and integrated vision of economic potential. Our parent company, Steer, is a global business consultancy that combines commercial, economic, technical and planning expertise to find powerful answers to clients’ complex questions.
Opportunities
We are growing our Economic Development team and now is an exciting time to join us. We’re looking for Senior and Principal Consultants who are ambitious, flexible and who can run some of the interesting and challenging projects we take on from our diverse range of clients.
If you’re someone who is naturally curious, confident and an excellent communicator you’ll fit right in with our team. With a good first degree (ideally in Economics, Geography or a related subject), you’ll have at least four years’ experience preparing business cases, engaging with stakeholders and writing strategy.
Our culture
There is a culture of approachability at Steer; you can talk to anyone, anywhere. We prosper by building relationships and are always interested in hearing each other’s ideas and opinions. At Steer, you can really be yourself, while we create openness and opportunity to allow you to be the best you can. Our role in helping people, places and economies thrive means that we take our social and cultural responsibilities seriously and that they form an important part of our culture and values.
Locations
We have offices in Leeds, London and Manchester and we’d like you to be able to come to one of those offices for at least 2-3 days a week, working remotely for the rest of the week.
