Environmental degradation. Turbulent global politics. Gender injustice. The forced displacement of people at record levels. The harassment and killing of indigenous peoples. USPG believes that these major challenges, exacerbated by the global pandemic, cry out for words and actions that express a love and solidarity that goes beyond narrow self-interest and national boundaries. USPG supports the churches of the Anglican Communion to be communities of resistance and hope, witness to the healing power of Christ’s love.
USPG is looking for a trustee to chair its Finance and Audit Committee, to support the stewardship of resources which make this valuable work possible. Board level experience of handling substantial financial issues is important, which could have been gained through a variety of backgrounds and career paths; what is essential is a capability to taking a leading role in USPG’s financial direction, working closely with USPG’s Director, Finance and Resources, its Chair and its General Secretary. USPG has an endowment of some £50 million, whose professional management requires appropriate supervision, and two significant closed pension schemes.
