Global B2B organsation operating in the aerospace industry with head offices on Merseyside looking for a Head of Marketing to manage the team and drive strategy.
Description
The role of the Head of Marketing will be based out of their head office on Merseyside for part of the week, and will be as follows:
- As part of the leadership team, participates in the development of commercial strategy and provides functional expertise and challenge to test the viability of commercial strategy, contributing creative ideas and insights to support its formation
- Leads the development and implementation of the corporate Marketing strategy, anticipating megatrends, complex challenges and opportunities and ensuring alignment of divisional marketing plans with the wider corporate strategy. Drives successful strategy implementation to meet both short-term targets and long-term business needs
- Leads the development of annual and longer-term marketing plans for specific offers, ensuring alignment with strategy. Quantifies business outcomes (for example, revenues or other key performance indicators) and resource budgets (financial and headcount)
- Develops the processes, methods and standards to effectively market solutions using a wide range of channels; ensures practices are integrated with and support the new product development process
- Develops effective PR and customer communication plans and collateral; project manages customer insight initiatives
- Develops the strategy and approach to increase lead generation and ensures responsibility for this is allocated appropriately across the Marketing team
- Communicates the strategy for achieving our mission, vision and values within the marketing function, together with the broad actions needed to implement it. Inspires the team to commit to these actions and to doing extraordinary things to achieve our business goals
- Develops excellent network relationships with sales colleagues and business managers, driving considerations and actions that build the brand and reputation
- Represents the business at major business sector events. Obtains market intelligence, promotes the organisation and enhances its reputation
- Sets and manages the Marketing budget, prioritising those plans, projects and activities that will have the biggest positive impact on revenues and brand
- Provides authoritative specialist advice to the leadership team, to guide the implementation of marketing policy and ensure products and brand are adequately represented in the design and implementation of change projects and initiatives
- Identifies and manages stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs, issues and concerns, and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions
- Manages and reports on the performance of the Marketing function; sets appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and holds them accountable for achieving these. Takes appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure annual business objectives are achieved
- Identifies the capabilities needed to meet current and emerging business needs. Evaluates current capabilities, identifies gaps and prioritises development activities. Embeds personal development and the fulfilment of personal potential in the culture of the organisation. Builds capabilities elsewhere in the business through mentoring and other informal methods
Profile
To succeed as the Head of Marketing, you will be based at head office on Merseyside, but have the ability to work in an agile manner and will to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- See ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies, plan and prioritise work to achieve company goals.
- You must have a customer centric approach and build strong teams with diverse skill sets
- Educated to University degree level
- 3 - 6 years of experience in strategic management and leadership roles, directing substantial resources over long timeframes
