Business Unit Manager
This rare opportunity will appeal to a graduate qualified professional on an upward trajectory in their career who has worked in world-class environments and wants to progress into P&L general management. Our client is a well-established and highly respected company supplying and supporting specialist technical products used in a broad range of industrial and commercial environments. It is private equity owned and on a steep growth curve and a key characteristic of the group is its sales, service, repair and maintenance elements which it operates through a network of regionally based P&L business units throughout the UK. These individual standalone business units supply, install, support, maintain and repair their product offering through a team of experienced colleagues including sales, planning, surveying, engineering and specialist sub-contractors as required.
As a P&L General Manager you will report to the Group Managing Director and lead from the front in delivering on a broad range of KPI’s which include sales objectives, both new and existing customers, effective utilisation of your support team, financial management, H&S and implementation and compliance with all internal systems and processes which are based on SAP / ERP. You will be a strong team leader and have a keen understanding of the financials and world-class customer experience. As the client is looking to develop a culture of continuous improvement, evidence of success in culture change programmes will also be advantageous. You will need to be graduate qualified with a background in high quality, technical installation, customer support, service, repair, or maintenance environments or possibly come from Facilities Management. You will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the business which is in the Durham area and the salary is supported by a very attractive performance based incentive package which is uncapped and could potentially lead to significant total remuneration.
