Senior member of the Strategic Management team supporting clients for Asset and Project Management Consultancy work in the Further Education sector. Ideal candidates will have FE experience along with early stage RIBA work and Consultancy background.

Description

Assisting with the delivery of the divisional business plan and overall company objectives including quality management, team management, financial management, day to day operations, development of new business, recruitment as required and project delivery. To take a senior role in the further education sector and support on the business strategy in this field. Working closely with the Divisional Directors and Further Education Lead, to help grow the business nationally, capitalising on the significant government funding already committed in the recent spending review, where £1.8 billion was committed over 5 years.

Key Duties include:

  • To provide support and assistance in all professional work and client management including bid proposals, instructions and internal project monitoring, whilst working in collaboration.
  • Attend and actively contribute to Further Education Sector Meetings. Attend and participate in staff meetings and related activities as necessary.
  • Being able to demonstrate knowledge of the space norms in the sector and a detailed understanding of curriculum modelling / spatial analysis in order to formulate the business case and give key strategic advice to clients in the early stages of a project (project definition and feasibility)
  • An understanding of college operations and issues affecting the Further Education Sector, including types of learners, curriculum changes and college functions
  • To undertake contract management and/or monitoring work as appropriate opportunities arise
  • To pursue business generation opportunities to introduce new work from either new or existing clients and assist in providing pipeline opportunities to feed technical teams in line with business plan
  • Update and maintain Business Development processes including opportunities tracker and marketing plan
  • Recruitment to support business plan/company objectives

Profile

A sound knowledge of the Further Education and Academy sectors
Hold a relevant recognised professional qualification (e.g. RICS, RIBA, CIOB, APM)
Excellent report writing skills and production of estate strategies in the public sector
Possess a range of business case writing and funding application production skills and a track record of securing funding in the public sector
Experience and knowledge of capital funding programmes in the Further Education and Academy sectors
Be a work winner with the skills and attributes to develop new and repeat business
Sound understanding of building construction and building refurbishment experience
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills
Strategy development and implementation
Presentation skills
Experience of managing budgets and delivering on time, to cost and quality requirements
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads and work under pressure to achieve deadlines
Problem solving and decision making skills
