The Chartered Institute of Fundraising is the professional membership body for UK fundraising. We champion our members’ excellence in fundraising. We support fundraisers through professional development and education. We connect fundraisers across all sectors and skill sets to share and learn with each other. Together, we can best serve our causes and communities, both now and in the future.

We have influenced fundraising and fundraisers for almost 40 years, we are the voice of charity fundraisers, a hub of high standards, and the ‘go to’ body for training and qualifications. Our reach and support for the fundraising community extends across the whole of the United Kingdom with groups running events and networks in every nation and region and our 24 Special Interest Groups bringing fundraisers together in every interest area from major donors to individual giving, from the cultural sector to technology.

We are now looking for a new Chief Executive Officer to join us at a pivotal time for the organisation, leading the development and delivery of our new five-year strategy and championing our diversity agenda and commitment to making the Institute and the sector a fairer and safer place for all. The Chief Executive Officer will be instrumental in ensuring the success, financial viability, growth, and sustainability of the organisation and be a visible presence and influential voice in the sector with government and key sector partners.

As the successful candidate, you will be an inspirational leader who is not afraid of making bolder, braver, more innovative decisions for the benefit of the Institute and its members. You will be a listener with high levels of emotional intelligence and keen judgement and demonstrate the desire and ability to advance an inclusive and supportive performance culture. A resourceful, inclusive, and naturally collaborative leader who develops relationships and builds alliances both internally and externally, you will demonstrate a strong passion for, and commitment to, the fundraising profession.

As an equal opportunity employer, we particularly encourage and welcome applications from women, people of minority ethnic origin and people with disabilities, as well as candidates from other groups which are under-represented in our community.
