A new interim opportunity for a Senior Housing Professional to lead the Management service for a huge stock of 50,000+ Homes. Working with a forward-thinking and ambitious leadership team, this assignment will require not only significant previous leadership within Housing generally – whether via a large Housing Association or Local Government body – but also significant change and improvement skills. After a year where home has rarely been so important to everyone, this is a real opportunity to positively impact the lives of communities.

With a clear housing strategy in place but ready to embrace new ideas, the successful candidate will take specific control of all aspects of landlord services including caretaking, repairs, maintenance and planned works. As well as leading the in-house teams, there are a number of major contracts currently in place as well up for renewal or re-tender, so a strong understanding of contracts management and getting the most out of commercial relationships will be key. Strong governance and compliance will be important, as will the flexibility and knowledge of how different communities have differing needs, so your ability to deliver a nuanced as well as consistent service will be important.

Transformation will also be an element of the role as each service looks to improve, contributing to a wider Housing improvement programme and feeding into the Vision the area has for its residents.

Given the size of the Authority and the stock involved, this role may well suit a former/current Director of Housing organisation, and someone used to handling the complexities which come with large corporate bodies. An experienced interim with recent exposure to the pressures this kind of environment, as well as a track record of improvement will be prioritised as a result.
