The Lead Network & Telephony engineer is responsible for, implementing , testing and documenting Network and Telephony infrastructure, inline with the organisation's Strategy & Architecture team and Infrastructure Solution Architect. They must work with the Infrastructure Delivery and Operations organisation to ensure Network and Telephony infrastructure is correctly released and transitioned to Operations teams.

Lead Network and Telephony engineer

Duties:

• Act as a senior Network / Telephony Engineer in a small dedicated team of engineers.
• Lead a small global team of talented network/telephony engineers to build the organisations Network/Telephony infrastructure and contribute to the team development.
• Provide technical advice during the creation of a new network/telephony infrastructure architecture.
• Maintain high communication levels and actively transfer knowledge.
• Ensure that technical risks are raised for discussion.
• Work collaboratively with Infrastructure Delivery Teams and other stakeholders (e.g Infrastructure Operations Team) to ensure plans are fully aligned and the relationships are conducive towards the successful delivery of change.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, while working with diverse audiences including highly technical IT professionals, developers, architects, and SEM.
• Develop new & improved ways to improve our infrastructure and provide a better user experience to end-users.

The successful candidate will play an active role in the Applications change team, contributing to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and a high-performing team ethic.

• Minimum of 7 years experience in the data networking and telephony industry, with a focus on TCP/IP Networks and Layer 2 / Layer 3 implementations and support in either enterprise or Telco/ISP's environments.
• SD-WAN technologies
• Experience in DC network technologies: Load Balancing, Network infrastructure to support Hypervisor Virtual Networking.
• Experience in cloud networking infrastructure technologies (Azure preferred - Expressroute, VNETs, Network Security Groups).
• Substantial recent hands-on experience in routing and switching; low-level design, implementation, and configuration of routers and switches.
• Strong, deep, and broad knowledge in- Network Routing protocols (IPv4), including BGP, OSPF / Enterprise ISP multi-homing architectures, Enterprise MPLS service provider connectivity / Campus switching - switch stacks, core/access/distribution.
• Hands-on experience in Network Security implementations.
