Head of Development (Progress to CTO / Technical Director) - Chester
A unique opportunity has arisen with this market leading software organisation for a Head of Development seeking to gain a Technical Director / CTO position. The company are a global leader in developing and delivering their engineering software products and now in a period of growth, investment and technical transformation, seek an experienced Head of Software, with an ability to both adopt new development tools and software architecture as well as lending strategic commercial expertise.
The key elements of the role combine managing a team of around a dozen engineers, including developers, an architect and test analysts. Working on Java based technologies, a knowledge of this stack alongside data architecture and web-based development, as well as SaaS would be highly beneficial.
Offering key input into technical strategy you will also collaborate with key stakeholders across the business and help prepare and deliver the vision and product road maps. You will also be responsible for aligning the team to agreed development standards and help determine how emerging technologies can be applied to advance their business strategy
With a demonstrable ability to manage a Development team (ideally based on Java technologies) and support business growth through technology innovation, you will have a deep understanding of modern development architectures and both on-premise and SaaS based software solutions, ideally with Agile methodologies and practices. You will have a can-do attitude and be a true innovator
In return, this is a highly rewarding position. There will be an opportunity to take on a CTO / Technical Director position and help grow an already thriving software company. As well as a solid wage, there will also be a very generous bonus and share / equity ownership for the right person.
There will also be an element of home-working with this position but will suit an experienced Head of Development or Technical Director within commuting distance of Chester, including towns of North Wales, south and west Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Preston etc.
