Head of Business Partnering – London

Our Client is a listed international organisation, operating in the research arena through several specialist businesses. They are a trusted Partner to a wide range of institutions and are seen as a key stakeholder enabling their Clients to make better informed decisions. We are looking to secure a Head of Business Partnering, based in their London operation for one of the operating divisions who alone contributed turnover in excess of £190m. Supporting the CEO of this division and working collegiately across a number of sector Heads this role will encompass the following key responsibilities:

  • Implement the strategic direction of commercial finance function for the portfolio and support the development of business strategic priorities both short and long term to ensure the business delivers its objectives.
  • Gain the trust of and support the Heads of Business and be able to positively influence business decisions.
  • Challenge established thinking and develop and provide an independent perspective.
  • Challenge and support the business assumptions provided by the leadership teams.
  • Lead the Global financial planning and reporting cycles for the portfolio, feeding into the Head of FP&A for consolidation.
  • Carry-out financial due diligence on any potential M&A activity and provide financial analysis on any potential disposals.
  • Lead integrations of acquisitions and work closely with the divisional FC to migrate all finance activities into the target operating model for the finance function.
  • Be a trusted Business Partner to the Leadership Teams.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and help drive financial decisions.

The Candidate will be:

  • A Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
  • Has a proven track-record of evolving business models to reflect the changing nature of modern business and customer requirements to drive improved business performance.
  • Someone who thinks carefully to understand business issues and then who acts decisively and is execution-focused and is committed to delivering on time and at pace.
  • Strong understanding of Events and data business models for information services.
  • Someone who demonstrates a continuous improvement mind-set and who always challenges the status quo.
  • A senior finance professional with a performance mind-set, who thrives in complex environments and drives a transformational agenda.

This role is pivotal to the ongoing growth of the organisation and will add value to the trajectory of a finance professional who is ready to take on responsibility for a division and the accountability for its continuing success.
