  • Ground floor opportunity with new and significant high growth industrial group in South Wales
  • Clean energy plants, marine engineering and offshore renewables
  • Combination of manufacturing, project management and project delivery

This is an exciting and rare ground floor opportunity to join a newly formed and significant engineering group with a well-defined roadmap to become market leader in the next few years within the land based clean energy, marine engineering and offshore renewable MRO markets.

With significant investment it already has an established growing pipeline of contracts and has both a strong heritage and sector experience within its board of directors that underwrite its planned growth to become a major player in its field.  A specific immediate target is the UK clean energy market with the initial focus being on the maintenance and repair aspects, this will be followed by rapid progress into new build as specialist sub-contractors and subsequently as prime contractors on selected new projects.  Resources and funding are already established that will fuel growth in the medium term to well over £100 million turnover and a lot more beyond in what is heralded to become a leading international operation.

Recruitment of the new senior leadership team is now commencing, and this key role of Quality Manager is one of them. The role carries responsibility for setting up and leading the quality function in the company including the monitoring and application of best practice across all projects and involves a combination of work at plant manufacturing level and on-site with project leaders.  Reporting into the Operations Board you will build, lead and develop a team of three quality specialists initially with more to come. This is a hands-on role with close involvement with manufacturing process, material conformity, welder accreditation and liaison with the relevant inspection authorities and client representatives.  Candidates will need to have impressive qualifications and proven experience in world-class heavy engineering industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will already be operating in a similar quality management role within our client’s sectors, power generation and with clean energy experience being particularly relevant.

You will be a strong team leader and motivator and have specific knowledge, relevant qualifications and experience of the Quality Standards and best practices pertinent in these sectors.  Fabrication, complex projects and international experience are all important and you will need the flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally as required.  This is a key leadership role offering considerable scope to make your mark and the prospects going forward for career development in this growing Group are very strong.

The salary package is negotiable and will not be an obstacle for the best in class which is what they want and it is supported by a benefits package expected of a group of this scale and ambition. You will be expected to live in the South Wales region.
