  • UK Land Based Clean Energy Sector
  • Ground floor opportunity to grow the business with a new and significant high growth industrial group in South Wales
  • A specialist role in the Tier 2 repair and contracting sector progressing to full EPC status

This is an exciting and rare ground floor opportunity to join a newly formed and significant engineering group with a well-defined roadmap to become market leader in the next few years within the land based clean energy, marine engineering and offshore renewable MRO markets.  With significant investment it already has an established growing pipeline of contracts and has both a strong heritage and sector experience within its board of directors that underwrite its planned growth to become a major player in its field.  A specific immediate target is the UK clean energy market with the initial focus being on the maintenance and repair aspects, this will be followed by rapid progress into new build as specialist sub-contractors and subsequently as prime contractors on selected new projects.  Resources and funding are already established that will fuel growth in the medium term to well over £100 million turnover and a lot more beyond in what is heralded to become a leading international operation.

Recruitment of the new senior leadership team is now commencing, and this key role as Business Development Manager is one of them.  You will report into the Operations Board and have responsibility for identifying and winning new business opportunities in the UK land based clean energy market and you will be given lots of support to deliver some strong numbers.  You will be expected to achieve your budgeted sales target through a defined sales growth plan, network within the industry sector, attend industry functions and trade gatherings and identify new products and services that can be provided by the group.  This is a broad ranging role and whilst focused on the UK it will include some overseas travel to visit new prospects and also inspect ongoing projects.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced energy industry sales professional with a proven background in capital project activity in the clean electricity generation or CHP sectors.   You will ideally have graduate qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.  Your career will have been built in the project oriented repair and contracting industry and you will be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and up to date knowledge of industry HS&E systems and procedures and you will relish the challenge and scope this position offers.

As the role reports to the Operations Board the career scope going forward is significant as promotion to senior levels of management within the company will be rapid based on your success. In addition to a highly attractive negotiable salary, there is a very comprehensive commission scheme based on personal performance together with company car and broad ranging benefits.  Your location can be very flexible within the UK operating from a home office, with regular visits to the Head Office in South Wales.
