Head of Cyber Security (AWS) - London

£120k - £140k + car allowance + 20% bonus + flex/remote working

My client, a leading Media Publisher is looking for a Head of Cyber Security with deep technical knowledge,who serves as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee and business information in compliance with the organisation's information security policies.

A key element of this role is working with the CIO to determine acceptable levels of risk for the publishing house. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected.

Primary Duties

Primary function is to oversee and direct the Security Operations function on behalf of the CIO, including direct management and accountability for the performance of any service providers involved. This involves managing information/cyber security risk management and governance processes and ensuring effective integration and alignment with the Reach Data Protection, Operational Risk and Internal Audit functions.

Contributing to technical projects. These can include system design and architecting layers of security against potential attacks.

Partnering with internal and external providers. These can include executives and managers across different departments, third-party vendors, government institutions and thought leaders in academia and the wider industry.

Evaluating employee behaviour and organisational culture. These include preventing the situation where an employee goes rogue, reviewing and recognising suspicious behaviour, and ensuring a fair work environment for everyone.

Financial reporting and addressing cybersecurity as a business problem.

Specific Responsibilities
Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security and cyber risk management program.
Work directly with the business units to facilitate cyber risk assessment and risk management processes.
Develop and enhance an information security management framework.
Understand and interact with related disciplines to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems and services.
Provide leadership to the organisations information security organization.
Partner with business stakeholders across the company to raise awareness of risk management concerns.
Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems.

Skills Required

A cyber security specialist with deep technical knowledge.

AWS working knowledge
Communication and presentation skills.
Policy development and administration skills.
Financial, planning and strategic management skills.
Supervisory and incident management skills.
Knowledge of regulation and standards compliance.
Ability to articulate cyber security and technical issues in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical leadership.
