Head of Community Safety - Fully Remote - Contract

The position will be working for a successful and government-led organisation that is seeking a Head of Community Safety on a 6-month rolling contract paying up to £500 per day within IR 35. As the Head of Community Safety, you will be responsible for the management of community safety practitioners and our client's 24/7 CCTV service.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the services business objectives overseeing the coordination and delivery of our client's Community Safety Partnership in particular focussing on ASB, VAWG, and Hate Crime.

Role Requirements:
To be considered for this role you must have previous experience acting as the strategic lead for all areas of work with community safety ensuring that our client, and wider partnership, discharge their statutory responsibilities with regards to crime and disorder. You must also be able to demonstrate the following key areas:
• Chair and lead a range of partnership meetings including, but not exclusive to, CSP, IOM and CMARACs (practitioners in this field will know the acronyms but if preferred is Community Safety Partnership, Integrated Offender Management, and Community Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference)
• Lead and oversee the development and delivery of a new Public Space Protection Order with an agreed enforcement plan
• Lead on the borough's approach to Violence Reduction ensuring the delivery of the new Violence Reduction Plan and delivery of programs funded by the Violence Reduction Unit
• Lead our client's response to violent incidents in the local area ensuring that our client has all relevant information to make decisions and asses risk, that the police are informed of our client's approach and needs as well as ensuring that senior managers and elected members are briefed and updated on all attacks
• Lead on the boroughs monitoring and returns for the London Crime Prevention Fund (LCPF) 2020/21 alongside leading on the development and approach for LCPF 2021/22 and 2022/23
• Operate as the lead officer in regard to all Policing matters ensuring that our client's needs and operational requirements are met by the Police and that our client remains safe.
• Lead the partnerships project team on DV redesign, working with the business improvement team to deliver new ways of working (the DiPS project)
• Lead and/or support the teams lead officers in community-based work including in areas such as VAWG, neighborhood watch and hate crime
• Lead and manage the service restructuring

Core Skill Requirements:
• Hold a valid enhanced DBS
• Strong managerial capabilities, ideally acting as a 'Head of' within a complex environment
• CCTV surveillance exposure
• Chairing high profile case management meetings - CMARAC and IOM
• Strong understanding of Counter-Terrorism, VAWG, ASB, Hate Crime, Reducing Re-Offending, Gangs in London, Knife Crime, etc....
• Extensive knowledge of current legislation in regards to: Crime and disorder act, Police and criminal evidence act, Criminal powers and investigations act, Anti-social behaviour act, Sexual violence act

Rate - £500 - per day - (inside) - 6 month rolling contract / 35-hour week 9am - 5pm.
