Harnham are partnered with a leading insurance brand seeking a Head of Data to spearhead a data transformation. The role will involve developing a strategy and road-map for a migration from on premise storage solutions to a cloud hosted data platform with Snowflake & Databricks at the core of the envisaged platform.

THE COMPANY:

The company is a large insurance company that focus upon providing car & home insurance for their customers. They have launched a data transformation initiative in the last 12 months, the creation of a cloud hosted data platform is central to this ambition. An aspect of this will involve migrating legacy data assets away from existing siloed storage solutions.

THE ROLE:

• Line Management of three business units (Cloud Data Infrastructure, Data Engineering, Scrum Team)
• Driving a data driven culture in the wider business through stakeholder engagement
• Ownership of the technical architecture of the Data Engineering estate
• Reporting into the CDO with the Head of Data Science operating as a peer

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

• Prior experience developing the strategy of a modern cloud hosted data platform build & experience leading the consequent delivery
• Vendor management experience is not required but is preferred
• Stakeholder management experience essential
• High-level conceptual knowledge of either Snowflake or Databricks preferred
