Expanding international bank based in central London is looking for a meticulous and confident Head of Compliance who will take on the SMF16 function for the London operations. The purpose of the role will be to develop and implement compliance and internal control activities, ensuring compliance with regulators whilst managing the Compliance Advisory Team.

Duties to include:
- Ensuring branch compliance with all FCA and PRA regulations and ensuring that all staff are made aware of any updates in a timely manner
- Acting as the first point of contact for external bodies and regulators, establishing a transparent and cooperative relationship
- Delivering staff training with respect to compliance regulations and implementing the compliance policy and compliance plan
- Maintaining compliance record-keeping, e.g. gifts, complaints register, FCA/PRA registrations, SMR certification and approvals etc.
- Implementing regulatory implications for new products and services. Reviewing marketing materials to ensure compliance.
- Actively undertaking compliance assurance and monitoring to assess the efficacy of compliance measures and prevent instances of non-compliance
- Identify situations that pose compliance risk and guide Management in reviewing and developing applicable policies and practices
- Review and update Branch policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with the regulatory regime.
- Ensure Bank compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations to include SMCR
- Lead and develop the Compliance Advisory Team, providing coaching, feedback and motivation. Ensuring a best practice is adopted.
Role Requirements:
- Educated to Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) as a minimum in a related discipline (Law, Finance, Accounting etc.)
- Previous experience holding SMF16 registration
- Compliance experience gained within a retail banking environment, preferred
- Previous managerial experience with experience in leading teams and delivering training to staff
- Strong regulatory compliance background and experience
- Knowledge and experience of FCA / PRA regulations and the implementation of related compliance frameworks
