Head of Data Platforms & Engineering - £120,000 + Package

SearchDATA is recruiting a Head of Data Platforms & Engineering to lead the strategic roadmap, design and development of data platforms and capabilities for a global brand.

The individual will play a key role within a global data transformation programme, influencing the adoption of modern and state of the art cloud data platforms fir for the business.

This is a company going from strength to strength, seeing significant year on year growth and revenues in the billions of Euros. Their goal to realise the value of their data, they need a true data leader to help them achieve it.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of the data platform ensuring the technology delivers the capability required by the business and the data strategy
• Design, develop and deliver data products and services into systems and business processes.
• Lead, coach and collaborate with a small diverse team to establish and evolve our data capabilities and help to embed best practice
• Create, embed and govern policies for effective and secure data management
• Lead on building, testing and maintaining data management systems, making sure they meet business requirements and user needs whilst delivering services that are automated, reliable and secure.
• Set standards, coach and share knowledge with the wider teams ensuring the team remain skilled, engaged and productive,
• Support the Enterprise Architect to deliver and maintain datasets, components and tools.
• Design and move forward data structures and data sets and help with adhoc queries of the data sets, data mining and service requests.
• Select the component data technology to support the requirements for the data platform
• Translates complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and high performing data technologies
• Leads data and batch/real-time analytical solutions leveraging transformational technologies
• Builds and designs next-generation Data analytics framework developed on a group of core technologies
• Implements security and recovery tools and techniques as required, works with developers to make sure that all data solutions are consistent
• Creates data flow diagrams for all of business systems and builds automation tools.
• Ensures all automated processes preserve data by managing the alignment of data availability and integration processes
• Creates and maintains data catalogue, interprets data results to business stakeholders and develops standards and processes for integration initiatives
• Leads the design of the logical model and implements the physical database to support business needs.
• Resolves conflicts between models, ensuring that data models are consistent with the ecosystem model (e.g., entity names, relationships and definitions) and conducts Level 2 and 3 support
• Leads or participates in creating, refining, managing and enforcing data management policies, procedures, conventions and standards
• Contributes to the establishment of business continuity & disaster recovery requirements, methods and procedures for data systems and databases
• Performs technology and product research to identify opportunities that impact business strategy, business requirements and performance.
