Procurement Director - Global Promotional Merchandise Company

I have partnered with a Global Promotional Merchandise company to find a UK Procurement Director to spearhead the strategy and direction for all of the buying activities across Europe and Asia.

Key purpose of Role

  • Responsible for the internal buying function, external sourcing agents, trading companies and direct vendor relationships across Europe and Asia.
  • Organize the structuring of the specialist FE product development/sourcing/QA/QC/production-Order Management and logistics functions, to enable growth.
  • Contribute significantly to the goal of improving the company's Revenues and Gross Margin within 3 years through better buying, vendor rebates, and improving win ratios on large custom orders.

Key Tasks

  • Create and implement processes, tools and objectives
  • Optimising resource output by operating and buying effectively from assured supply chains
  • Risk management - Enquiry trafficking to determine the most suitable and profitable route to market - EU vs FE
  • Strong focus on achieving a tangible sustainable sourcing' model. Operating with minimal approved' FE suppliers to create a mutually beneficial partnership that ensures continued business, consistent quality and co-operation at the most competitive price.
  • Collaboration - Run In-house workshops to educate and promote awareness of the benefits and considerations for FE sourcing
  • Management of 3rd party service providers - 3PLs and Testing/Inspection companies.
  • Trade and Customs compliance - Brexit strategy planning
  • Implement CSR/QMS auditing program for all vendors located in categorised high risk' countries (China, India etc). Assurance of credentials of vendors and their products in low risk countries.
  • Take a lead on CSR and Sustainability initiatives for, managing project teams for Ecovadis, BPMA certification, and other initiatives
  • Support team on completing ISO accreditations where required.
  • Support in the expansion of the company in European territories, helping to onboard new acquisitions in the Procurement function, and integrate them into the companies processes.
  • Support the New Business team on major tenders with procurement information, and where required, attend pitches to support the Sales Director
  • Line management responsibility for Head of Procurement (APAC) and European Supplier Relationship Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to shape the procurement function for an ambitious forward-thinking Global Company.
