Director of Finance

Totum Partners are delighted to have recently been engaged by a high performing City law firm to undergo a retained search for a Director of Finance. Replacing a retiring incumbent, this position offers a qualified accountant who has been operating at a senior managerial level the opportunity to join a law firm which has been returning improvements in revenue and profits year on year for a significant period. The role reports into the Managing Partner.

Overseeing the finance function via three direct reports, the Director of Finance works closely with the Managing Partner to provide optimal financial management of the firm. The Director of Finance and their function provides financial management information, modelling and analysis so that informed decisions can be made to ensure the continued success of the firm. The Director of Finance will be expected to make consistent improvements to the finance team's processes and procedures, create a cohesive and enjoyable working environment and help to encourage the team members to continue to grow and develop their skill-sets. As well as safeguarding the firm's financial regulatory compliance, alongside the Managing Partner the Director of Finance also runs the annual budgeting process, working with all budget holders in setting and reaching achievable, challenging financial targets. The Director of Finance role will play an active part on the Executive Committee alongside other Business Services Directors and the Managing Partner. The role also sits on the Finance Committee.

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) with extensive director-level managerial experience. Law firm experience or other comparable professional services industries will be considered. Excellent attention to detail, a firm understanding of how partnerships operate, excellent communication skills and a collegiate working style are all prerequisites.
