The University of Westminster has a long and distinctive history. Founded over 180 years ago as London’s first polytechnic institution, it has become known for the many ways in which it helps students to realise their full potential, regardless of background. Westminster’s founding values are to be progressive and questioning, with a spirit that reflects the University’s global reach and location at the heart of a world city which is home to diverse communities. Providing grounded, holistic education with wide horizons and opportunities, it develops graduates who will help fuel growth and prosperity, and who become responsible citizens of the world.

The University now seeks a Head for its School of Management and Marketing. Distinctive and globally-connected, WBS is based in the heart of London’s political, media and financial services and is widely recognised as a provider of choice for applied and professionally-accredited management education. It enjoys strong links with professional bodies and its faculty are actively engaged in applied research and executive training.

A key member of the WBS Executive Group, the postholder will be required to bring strong and visionary leadership to this diverse and dynamic School as well as contribute to the management and strategic development of WBS more broadly, to realise the University’s strategic objectives. A reputable and inspiring leader, the new Head of School will be focused on leading change by championing a strong and bold vision. They will be required to drive quality in teaching and learning, continue the innovation in, and expansion of, market leading programmes, and deliver enhanced income and impact from research and knowledge exchange activity. A skilled communicator, with exceptional people and management skills, they will bring a track record in successful resource planning and implementation. Prospective candidates should demonstrate the ability to think and act strategically; engage and motivate staff; and will possess a high level of analytical and administrative ability. Critically, they will evidence a passion for the School and align with the values and mission of the institution.
