This an excellent opportunity within a medium sized FMCG business, to lead their procurement function and a team of buyers. Spend £40m on all ingredients, commodities, packaging & indirects.

Our client is a medium sized FMCG business that produce some very well-known food products that can be found in ever supermarket, restaurant and home across the UK. They source the highest quality ingredients from around the world and have 30 years of history and experience. ​Reporting directly into the CEO, the business offers an autonomous working environment that will allow you to have full control of the procurement function, upskilling staff and managing relationships with all suppliers.​

Description

Responsibilities:​

Strategic responsbility for the purcahsing of all raw materials (Flour, Wheat, Spices, Sugar, Cereal...)and services, circa £40m spend.

Lead, coach and develop a team of buyers

To drive continuous improvement and procurement best practice

Manage relationships with existing suppliers and develop new relationships with new suppliersMonitor fluctuation in commodity pricing to identify any cost risk or opportunities.Develop key relationships with internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, finance, operations....)Based in Steveneage, Hertfordshire.

Profile

Ideal Candidate: ​

7+ years in ingredients procurement within an FMCG manufacturing businessExperience managing a team of buyersA strong knowledge of buying ingredients or commodities globally. ​Self-motivated and proactive mindsetExcellent communication, presentations and interpersonal skills

Job Offer

up to £65,000 plus package

based in Stevenage, with flexible working.
