Key Responsibilities/Duties:
The Technical Delivery Manager will be required to support the Business outcomes by:
Working closely with the Scrum team to deliver change
Manage the project ensuring delivery within agreed time, cost and quality constraints in support of the rolling change programme
Work with architects and analyst to turn designs into delivery plans
Developing effective working relationships with all customers; project teams, other business representatives and IT suppliers
Managing a team of people in a Matrix management environment
Undertake reviews of existing projects, making recommendations and assessing feasibility of potential projects
Demonstrable coaching, development and knowledge transfer of skills to internal Technical Delivery Managers and other team members
Working with Heads of Development and Delivery to influence technical direction
Working with Resource Managers to plan out and secure resources
Ensuring effective communication across the programme, working closely with other Delivery Managers and not operating in silos
Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and customers
Key Knowledge and Skills:
A development or architecture background
Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall deliveries
Flexibility to deal with the demands of working in a fast paced environment
A proven track record of enabling delivery of significant technical change initiatives in a large private or public sector organisation
A broad understanding of change management and programme/project management approaches and techniques
Experience of managing a team of technicians and analysts
Prince 2 Practitioner accreditation and/or other professional PM qualifications
Good communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels, both written and verbally
Experience of managing work and deliverables of internal and external suppliers
Experience of working within a structured delivery environment
Risk and dependency management skills
People development through coaching and mentoring
Ability to adopts a flexible working style, willing to pick up team tasks where needed
Outputs/Deliverables to be achieved:
Managing day to day technical delivery
Producing high quality delivery plans
Drafting the project governance plan and reaching agreement on governance arrangements for the technical delivery with stakeholders
Supporting and imputing into Agile ceremonies when needed
Preparing supplier proposals where needed
Ensuring work is completed to deadlines and deliverables meet expectations
Managing project expenditure by capturing actual work effort and costs and maintaining records in the project finance record
Producing progress reports, highlight reports and exception reports
Identifying and managing project technical risks and inter work stream dependencies
