A FTSE listed Insurance Group is looking for a highly experience accountant for this newly created role. Whilst reporting to the Group CFO, you will be managing a large team responsible for producing all legal entity and Group consolidated plans, budgets, forecasts, MI and financial reporting. The role will include oversight of Corporate Finance and capital activities to ensure capital efficiency and optimisation and you will be an active member of the finance leadership team (FLT) with responsible for delivering against the Finance Vision and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Active member of the FLT ensuring that the Finance Vision and Strategy is continually reviewed, challenged and delivered.
  • Proactively champion a continuous improvement mindset & identify value adding quick wins and improvement opportunities, in addition to longer term system enhancement and process automation initiatives.
  • Drive the team and continuous improvement agenda on quality and timeliness of planning and reporting and develop core Finance controls and governance framework accordingly.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery production of group and legal entity executive level MI.
  • Lead the Group, GAAP and legal entity planning and forecasting processes with a focus on both accuracy and timeliness of delivery and on the detailed expense planning.
  • Ensure close, effective working relationships with the external reporting team to drive consistency and support effective analysis and review of actual results
  • Ensure timely production, review and governance of annual report, interim statement, analysts pack and statutory accounts for group and all entities. Including attendance at Executive Committee, Audit Committee and Board.
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting to relevant authorities, namely Lloyd's, FSA, MAS and the US regulators.
  • Ensure applicable accounting policies are adhered to and any new accounting or regulatory changes can be met eg IFRS 17.
  • Ensure all capital management activities are delivered and met, including capital reporting to boards and committees.

The ideal candidate will need to have significant experience working at a very high level in a Lloyd's or London Market organisation. You will need to possess excellent leadership qualities and have a strong interest in adding to a finance change & transformation programme.
