The Academy Ambassadors programme brings the expertise of the business world onto boards at multi-academy trusts (MATs) throughout the country to raise standards of education and improve the life chances of young people, which is critical to our social and economic success.

The opportunity

Established in 2013, originally as Bourton Meadow Education Trust, Campfire academies are a network of non-selective schools with a clear goal: to ensure all pupils, regardless of their background or prior attainment, have access to high quality educational provision. With schools in Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, it is a growing trust focused on serving children within the communities in which they live.

The trust's schools include Bourton Meadow Academy George Grenville Academy, Lace Hill Academy in Buckingham Spring Lane Primary School and Lumbertubs Primary School in Northampton and the most recent one to join, Moorland Primary School in Milton Keynes. At this size, the trust is able to achieve its vision of creating a sustainable network of outstanding schools succeeding in closing the achievement gap. The trust is growing as slowly as necessary to ensure they never compromise on education quality. Bourton Meadow Academy has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted, with three of the remaining schools being rated as Good, and the other two yet to be judged since converting to academies.
