The Job

Working as the CTO you will be the driving force of the engineering team with this software house delivering a PaaS to business who want to sell their products online. You will be leading specification, architecture and implementation of solutions commerce solutions that are hugely innovative and add genuine value to the supply chain.

You will lead technical conversations and direct the team in the execution of all development work. As such you will be accountable for the smooth delivery of solutions whilst managing and growing a talented team of Ruby on rails developers.

To do this you will build and line manage a team of managers, working closely with your development manager to expand the engineering team.

The CTO will;

• Co-ordinate activities between product management, design and development roadmap.
• Setting and delivering against the technical strategy
• Provide architecture oversite
• Improve process, development quality to deliver a customer centric development culture

You will work with clients and partners to drive deep technical integrations and foster strong lasting relationships with them.

About you

You will be an experienced CTO with a can do attitude,you will be someone who has lead large teams (70+) and have some exposure to PaaS or SaaS and Ruby on rails.

You will understand the need for process and building metrics to help drive development teams and what it takes to build a successful distributed culture. This is a job for someone with drive and enthusiasm.

About the company

This super successful start up has built software platform that is automating commerce operations in some of the worlds leading retailers and is already driving £1 billion in sales per year. Their platform is built in Ruby on rails and ReactJS.

They have already built a team of 80 using a remote first model with teams based across the world.

The main office is based in South Wales and as a leader in the business you will be expected to visit this office regularly (not daily).

Team bonding is important to this business, they have teams who are globally dispersed and so they put a lot effort to bring the teams together with hackathons,Friday drinks and frequent social gatherings.
