Head of Field Operations
Location: London
Industry sector: Utilities / Telecoms
This is a senior leadership role, with a 50/50 blend between operations and being a key influencer of people.
Overview of the role
Leading a team of nearly 10,000. Key deliverables include safety, quality, network engineering customer satisfaction, service, revenue and efficiency over a cost base of several 100m's.
Leading a UK-wide engineering field team responsible for the build, maintenance, repair and transformation of networks infrastructure.
Demand is driven from multiple sources, is required on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis and covers several thousand exchanges, radio stations, and strategic data centres across large and disparate geographic areas.
Accountability for the health and safety of the engineering workforce, ensuring a safety-first culture whilst meeting legal and regulatory commitments.
Responsible for the P&L and owning the operating budget, CAPEX and build delivery programmes.
Core sector skills and expertise for this role:
Major scale field operations experience, within either Telecoms or the wider Utilities sectors eg: Civil Engineering, Power, Water, Rail or Telecoms.
Full P&L accountability of £1Bn p/a capital expenditure.
Ownership of the health, wellbeing and development of a large scale operational team.
Productivity improvement of engineering desk-based teams.
Create an organisation and leadership culture that brings to life the core values and delivers an engaged, inspired and high performing workforce.
Managing digital workflows, transforming processes & making strategic improvements.
Appreciation and understanding of regulatory expectations and pressures.
Delivering on regulatory obligations for reactive build delivery.This is not a "step up role". We require someone already operating at this level with serious upward potential for Managing Director in a 5-year timeframe.
Please note: this is a permanent executive role within the business. LTIPS, bonus, car allowance, and a variety of additional reward benefits are on offer.
Due to the commercially sensitive nature of this role, we may choose to hold provisional pre-screening interviews.
