2020 has been a year like no other: directors, boards and organisations have had their business resilience tested. Amid unique challenges, the IoD has a crucial role to play ensuring directors are fully equipped to deal with the headwinds and succeed in a dynamic and globally connected world.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will help shape the strategic tone and direction of the Institute and ensure the highest levels of governance and probity are in place to innovate, support future growth and deliver for the IoD's members. You will share the responsibility for scrutinising operational and financial performance, bring a fresh perspective and constructive challenge, working in collaboration with Board members to ensure the IoD is a progressive force for business, whilst upholding the Institute's gold standard reputation and corporate governance.

To complement the existing skills and knowledge base, and to create a highly credible, robust and balanced board, the IoD require Non-Executive Directors with demonstrable ability to provide real insight, introduce new ideas and make sound decisions at board level. With a clear connection with the mission and values of the Institute, you will be an innovative strategic business leader and/or industry professional with compelling private, public or non-profit leadership experience in periods of change or growth. Additionally, you will have a commercial outlook, sound judgment, with the ability to influence and objectively challenge in a supportive manner as part of the Board.

With a commitment of one to one and a half days per month, this is a unique opportunity to join the Board of a highly influential and globally renowned organisation.
