My Client (a leading private Manufacturing business) are looking for an IT Director to lead IT operations and strategy for their global business. With just over 1000 employees and a turnover in excess of 120 million my client has been developing and selling solutions into the civil and military Aerospace market for over 50 years. This hire comes at an exciting time for them as you will be joining a relatively new leadership team whom are pushing forwards with new products, technology and facilities, they are very well established and respected in their area of the industry and are in a position of strength to grow and take advantage of opportunity in their sector.

You will have the chance to build on your broad skill set, leading a geographically distributed team of 11 you will be responsible for delivering technology services to 5 locations around the world. This is a relatively small and lean IT team so it is important that the IT Director is hands on in their approach, you will be happy and skilled enough to play the role of Strategist, Service Manager, Solutions Architect, Project Manager, Incident Manager and more, whilst this person does not need to be the leading technologist in the team, it would be useful if you were from a technical background to help bridge the gap between the board room and the technical solutions.

There will be three key focuses to the job

Operational Service Delivery - They deliver critical parts to the aerospace industry so first class IT is required to support the manufacturing processes.

Business Systems Transformation - There is lots of opportunity to drive efficiency and competitive advantage through technology using innovations such as IOT and Robotic automation.

Security Strategy and Management - Given the highly regulated space they work within, it is critical they have first class security technology and processes.

My client is looking for someone with the following profile.

Experienced IT Leader with a broad experience across applications and infrastructure.

Ideally you will be from a Manufacturing or Heavy Industry background

A hands on approach to delivery with good technical awareness

Strong commercial acumen
