Established in 2015 by the President of the European Commission, the Regulatory Scrutiny Board contributes to the Commission’s Better Regulation Policy by examining impact assessments, ex-post evaluations and fitness checks. In addition to the Chairman, the Board comprises six full-time members, three of whom are recruited externally. These external members are selected for their academic expertise in macroeconomics, microeconomics and/or social and environmental policymaking.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assessing reports on evaluations and supporting new political initiatives;
  • Delivering expert opinions to drive continuous improvement;
  • Advising European Commission services on interpreting relevant guidelines when challenging assessments and evaluations.

Your skills:

  • A strong academic record in regulatory policy, impact assessment or ex-post evaluation processes and methodologies;
  • Broad awareness of EU policies and decision-making processes, including Better Regulation;
  • Excellent analytical skills Specific expertise in macroeconomics, microeconomics, social policy and/or environmental policy.
