I am working with a Public Sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Head of Business Services for 12 months.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying £700 umbrella per day. The role is in scope of IR35.

The role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool or Barnsley.

About the Role

• This is a recently new role for the organisation to ensure that we employ a robust service management approach to our business systems, providing operational resilience and customer satisfaction as we develop & migrate our services
• You will take the lead in the design of mission critical IT services demonstrating a high level of understanding with respect to customer drivers, customer requirements, service level agreements, service architecture and service management
• You will translate customer requirements and contractual obligations into a Service Design for each IT service that describes the scope of services, delivery model(s), people and processes
• You will ensure effective transition planning with robust release and deployment management processes, to support the successful transition of IT service into business-as- usual
• You will work with the members of the IT leadership team to define the ongoing development needs for ICT and Digital services and secure resources accordingly
• You will be required to participate in an on-call out of hours rota, which will include evenings, weekend or public holiday working

Experience and Knowledge:

• Excellent knowledge of IT Service Management principles with an in-depth working knowledge of ITIL standards
• Experience of developing Service and Operating Level Agreements for internal / external client groups in a large organisation
• Extensive customer relationship management experience
• Knowledge and practical experience of a range of demand and capacity planning techniques and IT product management processes

Qualifications and Training:

• Educated to Masters level in a technology- related subject, or equivalent experience
• Possess ITIL Certification at Foundation or higher level
• A recognised qualification in Management (eg MBA) or equivalent experience
• Membership of an appropriate professional body (eg ISEB, BCS) would be desirable
• Possess a valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK would be an advantage but not essential
• Evidence of continuous professional development
