We are seeking a medical Non-Executive Director to join our team at HUC where you will actively contribute to the strategic leadership of the organisation, working to further develop our urgent & primary health care service provision with our stakeholders.

Who are we?

HUC is a Social Enterprise providing accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Care services to nearly 3 million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and part of Essex. When service users need the right medical advice, signposting or treatment, HUC provides the NHS 111 and Out of Hours GP service. We have grown rapidly in recent years and continue to mobilise new services.

The Role:

The Non-Executive Director will provide independent guidance and support in the delivery of the business plan; scrutinization of the performance of the organisation in terms of its operational activities and financial targets; and ensuring that governance, internal control and risk management are effectively managed.

We are seeking a track record in the clinical governance and Quality Assurance of service provision who can demonstrate an interest in service innovation. Preferably, also with an understanding of CQC inspections and audit. In addition, you should have experience in a Non-Executive Director role or have a good understanding of it.

You will attend all Board meetings (once every two months) and Board Sub Committees, you will be expected to commit to 2 days per month.

Base Board Remuneration: £7,200 pa, rising when additional time is required.

Preferably, you would live within or close to the area served by our organisation, Hertfordshire
