Job Details

Due to the size of our client we are looking to source a Sales Director who is comfortable getting their hands dirty and leading from the front. This is a classic player / manager role where you will bill in order to build the team around you.

Client Details

Our client's software provides a sophisticated and flexible performance management solution that empowers senior finance professionals to perform their roles with more data driven precision. The software can analyse results, model the future and optimise organisational decision making. Having been on the market for a number of years they have built a reputable footprint across a number of sectors. The next stage in their development is to channel that success into a more sound commercial strategy and increase the volume of customers they are working with. Their office is based in Weybridge and there will be an expectation to be there weekly (lockdown dependent).

Description

The Sales Director has a primary responsibility for growing both the revenue and customer numbers. This will be achieved through close working with marketing, leading from the front and successfully deploying the business development resources. As time goes on there will also be a need to recruit several Account Execs to manage the business that you have won.

In addition to this the role will be expected to:

  • Lead from the front on new business and existing customer up- or cross-sell opportunities
  • Own the full sales process starting with developing and scaling the sales pipeline
  • Coach and develop a team with a focus on a customer engagement framework
  • Assess the market and appropriately assign resources where needed
  • Work with Marketing to build a quality pipeline
  • Develop and nurture long-term customer relationships
  • Provide input on company strategy and execution of the business plan
  • Being the senior contact for existing Customers
  • When normal conditions resume, travel throughout the UK & Ireland

Profile

In order to apply for the Sales Director role you must be able to provide significant proof of success in a similar role. Two non-negotiables for perspective applicants are software solutions sales experience and a track record of selling to CFOs and FDs. Whether you are taking the first steps as a sales leader or you have managed small teams for some time is not important. What is crucial though is that you are happy to lead from the front and get your hands dirty. This role will carry a personal revenue target. Our client has also suggested the following skills and experiences are likely to result in a being asked for an interview:

  • Extensive experience in software sales, with a heavy emphasis on direct new business sales of business applications & software solutions (not infrastructure)
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills. Experience working with medium to large enterprises
  • Outstanding presentation skills over video and face to face. You need to represent the company vision in front of customers with energy
  • Understand the benefits of strategic partnering to accelerate growth. Having the ability to spot, cultivate and drive strong UK / Ireland partnerships from a complimentary technology, service delivery and consulting perspective
  • Some experience of selling within the Higher Education, Local Government, Financial Services and Beverage sectors would be desirable
  • Able to help the company design, build and successfully adopt new processes
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit, a creative attitude to problems and never give up mindset
