This fascinating SME energy sector organisation has been set up to help implement and oversee critical new governance arrangements in the industry. It is a not-for-profit organisation, totally funded by parties to the code under their respective licence to operate conditions. The organisation is here to promote innovation, competition and positive customer outcomes and their intention is to:

  • Ensure consumers can switch energy providers efficiently with positive experiences and outcomes

The organisation’s Board is made up of an Independent Chair and a small number of Directors chosen to represent different parts of the Energy industry. They also sit on the Boards and Executive Committees of other Codes.

The Requirement

Reporting to the Board the organisation wishes to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop and manage a small team of expert practitioners in this code governance area. It is hoped the CEO will be in post by April 1st 2021. Core responsibilities will entail:

  • Ensure the organisation is serving its stakeholders well
  • Confirm budgets each year and work to these figures consistently
  • Develop the strategic direction of the organisation and oversee this development
