Vacancy: European Union senior management position - Temporary Agent Grade AD14 - COM/2020/1037
The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) is an independent EU Agency, established by Council Regulation (EC) No 2100/94 (1) on 27 July 1994. The CPVO is responsible for the management of the Community Plant Variety Rights System which provides protection with an intellectual property right for new plant varieties in the European Union. It has around 50 staff members and a budget of approximately EUR 20 million yearly, financed mainly by the proceeds of the various fees it levies. The post of President of the CPVO will be available as of 1 September 2021 for an initial mandate of 5 years, with a possible extension of 5 additional years. The place of employment is Angers (France) where the CPVO is based.
The President represents the CPVO and is responsible for its management. The ideal candidate should be an outstanding professional with solid leadership and communication skills, and very good knowledge of matters relating to plant variety rights.
Candidates must be citizens of one of the Member States of the European Union and possess at least 15 years professional experience among which 5 years at senior management level in the area of activities of the Office.
The President of the CPVO will be appointed by the Council of the European Union on the basis of a shortlist provided by the European Commission.
