Finance Director - Spanish speaker is required

A leading and innovative electronics business with sites in the UK and Europe is looking for a finance director to join them for an immediate start. As such candidates must be available to start at short notice, and should preferably be immediately available.

As the finance director, you will be a natural business partner to the CEO, making an outstanding individual contribution in leading the finance function. In this role you will provide quality insight together with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and accounting services. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will be foundationally instrumental in the establishment of relevant policies, procedures and processes for the business so as to strengthen governance and compliance, leading the next chapter in their story.

For this position, the appointed finance director will be qualified in finance, business or accounting, with an excellent academic background. You will be a technically strong accountant and you will be tasked with the preparation of all management and statutory accounts. In your prior career you will have acted as a finance leader, managing a finance team, ensuring best practice and dealing with all relevant external stakeholders (auditors, bankers, tax authorities etc) and all financial enquiries.

The business has an acquisitive roadmap and to this purpose, the newly appointed finance director will have ownership for all fundraising and other such supporting activity. It would be desirable for candidates to have had direct experience of or some exposure to working in a private equity setting, though this is not essential.

As a senior leader within the business, the finance director will play a highly visible role and be expected to be involved in the operational side of the business also. An ambassador for the business, the finance director will act as a force for good, promoting a progressive culture of integrity, ethical practice and high performance among what is a multicultural, dynamic and fiercely intelligent workforce. It will be expected that the new finance director will be able to work effectively in a fast-changing environment and build upon the many successes the business has already achieved. Please be advised that the ability to speak Spanish fluently is a necessary requirement (you will need to liaise with in-country managers, maintain supplier relationships and auditors); candidates who do not meet this criterion cannot be considered!
