Southworks are about to embark on a period of rapid growth, with a specific focus on the European region. As a result, there is an opportunity to join the senior leadership team as COO, reporting to the CEO and founder.

Job Description

As Chief Operating Officer for Southworks, you will lead a broad global team, which will include both Human Resources and Customer Delivery. This role will lead the global people plan, creating an infrastructure to deliver an exceptional standard of service to it's customers.

It will be the responsibility of the COO to design and build a centre of excellence to be based in the UK, which will lead both the Global Delivery and HR strategies.

Currently at a headcount of c340 globally, there is a target to increase heads to 2000 by 2022, and the EMEA region is a key strategic market in which they will develop their business.

Southworks have an office in Chiswick Park, however it is expected that the person in this role, and the wider team may work locally/remotely.

  • Ensuring that a delivery strategy is built that allows for the on-time delivery of all projects to a high customer satisfaction level (currently NPS 97%)
  • Ownership of the global people and talent strategy, ensuring delivery of all aspects of HR, including L&D, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and ER.
  • Team building according to the projects required by the customer, to accomplish quality objectives and reach the expected profit levels.
  • Optimisation of available resources in immediate response to projects, reducing the number of unallocated resources.
  • Leading and controlling different work cells assigned to projects to ensure compliance with the objectives set in the contracts and customer satisfaction.
  • Service productivity: Evaluation of current services and their comparison with the business projects expected.
  • Design and implement working practices to enhance productivity and achieve objectives

The Successful Applicant

Candidates will have a background from the software industry, and have worked in leadership roles within both large organisations (IBM, Microsoft...) as well as fast growth global businesses scaling up their offering. This will need to be evidenced in CV's being submitted.

We are also looking for candidates who are currently or in their last role, operating as a global COO, but who have lead HR or the people strategy previously. Attracting, developing and retaining high performance international teams are a critical part of this role, so again this must show in your CV.

Experience of managing and executing of high-quality product delivery for customers, through setting the right strategy and running the right leadership team is critical, so it is highly desired that candidates have managed teams of developers and led the customer delivery strategy in previous roles.

As this is a career move, expected to grow with the business, we are looking for individuals who have spent time in permanent positions, so are unable to consider those who have embarked on an interim career previously.

What's on Offer

A salary and benefits package will be agreed depending on level of experience. It is likely that this will include a significant six figure base, in addition to a generous bonus and LTIP.
