This world leading Wordpress digital agencies are looking for a Director of Javascript Engineering to come on board and lead their high performing Javascript teams across Europe. The company has always been fully remote since inception, which has worked really well for them and this, couples with the mounting success of the business, has allowed them to thrive during the current climate. They work with enterprise accounts with clients such as Google, Facebook and Twitter, and as a result, work on some really exciting projects with some of the world's leading businesses. As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for running their high performing JavaScript teams across Europe and will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of projects as well as having a hands-on approach where needed.

The role:

• Running a team of high-performing JavaScript Engineers across Europe on a variety of JavaScript/React projects
• Mentoring the developers within your teams to boost overall performance
• Focusing on enhancements and performance optimisation of multiple enterprise-level projects by writing well-designed and efficient code and having a hands on approach where needed
• Taking a lead role in shaping technical direction and technical discussion in order to allow for continuous improvement

The candidate:

• A long track-record of commercial experience building scalable web-based applications with JavaScript
• Previous experience building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams
• Previous experience in taking a lead on steering technical direction and implementing architectural decisions
• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, React and Node.js
• Exceptional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience with React Native is desirable but not essential
• Exposure to PHP is desirable but not essential
• A collaborative and entrepreneurial mentality will allow you to take ownership of projects and ensure they are completed to a high standard
• Experience using Git - you will also need to provide a Github
